Less time to sleep when you're actually getting stuff done

Possession of said pull up bar might do you some good.

Got the 240 in town now, got a list of things to get it legal:
- Exhaust : The previous owner cut out the cat, so I need a flange from the header and some pipe to the rest of the exhaust
- Seatbelt : I threw a huge pile of them away, I may have them laying around here... I hate the auto belts anyway though, will prob just get manual ones.
- Speedo : My digital one is out, but I have 3 so I will see about getting them to work.
- Parking lights : There's a short somewhere - they stay on no matter what
- Driver headlight : I'm missing the mounting hardware.
- Need two windows put back in, they're not illegal to have out, just inconvenient in the even of rain.
- Wipers : Missing the screws that hold the actual wiper mounts in place.
Some optional stuff I need to work on next:
- Solid motor mounts
- Paint : Nothin supah nice, just some consistency would be nice. On the inside as well...
- LSD : Gotta drop that bad-boy Cusco in
- Electric fans : stupid mechanical one takes up tons of room
- Second "radiator" and a snail...

Like a manifold gauge or just one of those ones that comes with the cans of freon?
The ones that come with the freon don't really tell you much, you need to be able to compare the high side to the low side. The low side should be around 30 psi (R-134a's pressure @ 32 deg F) and the high should be roughly 2.5 times the ambient temperature (ie, if it's 90 outside, it'll be 225 psi)
Using the readings from the manifold gauges will help you figure out what's going on with the system. Unfortunately, you can show good pressures, but still be low on freon - part of the system is in a gaseous state and thus will maintain a constant pressure dependent on temperature.
Basically what I'm saying is, you need more info, hook up a gauge set. I'd let you borrow mine, but I'm in Austin now.
B-Series Transmission Dissection - Mon Jul 18, 2011 3:20 pm
I see no reason to believe they aren't all the same. The differences between transmissions was in the gearset (ratios and differentials). I'm sure I could get it new, but it'll probably cost an arm and a leg. Not trying to be cheap, but I know most of us have car junk laying around, SOMEONE's gotta have a jacked up b-series manual (dead 3rd gear synchro anyone?) No reason to spend extra on it, ya know?

I pretty much followed this guide:
http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2443459
But on this part:
You might wanna use one of these (spring clip pliers):
For those of you that don't know, I bought a newly rebuilt GSR transmission a while back because the LS gearset is just RIDICULOUSLY long for the 8k rev limit. I had it in the car about two weeks and then it just stopped shifting. Since I was strapped for time and buried up to my eyeballs in 240sx, I just swapped the LS back in. Today I finally cracked the case on the GSR trans.

The only spot for leverage:
Here you can see what broke:

Ok so where did that piece go? Oh... here it is:
Yeah, that's right next to the final drive. Had that gotten sucked up in there or in the diff, it woulda been bad. Pretty sure that's the stuff wrecks are made of.
More pics:

Long story short, I need a new shift change assembly.
WTD: Junk B-series transmission - Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:03 am
Gears can be shot, I don't care, I just the the shifter assembly from inside. Mine broke on my GSR transmission, on the last chicane of the Circuit de la Sarthe. Almost took that R92CP.
But I digress, I would really like to get this trans in when I swap the clutch, which I need to do yesterday. Lemme know
